Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information 1st Fix UPVC collects through this website and when you contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

Who We Are

1st Fix UPVC is a trading name of 1st Fix Ltd, a windows and doors company based in Gateshead. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, call us on 0800 047 2610 (Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm) or get in touch through our contact page.

What Information We Collect

  • When you fill in our contact form: your name, phone number, email address, the details of the work you'd like doing, and the web page you sent the form from.
  • When you phone or message us: the details you choose to give us, such as your name, address, contact details and information about your property and the work needed.
  • When we survey, quote for or carry out work: your address and the information we need to measure up, quote, fit and guarantee the work.
  • When you use this website: limited technical information collected through cookies, as explained in the Cookies section below.

How We Use Your Information

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a survey or quote.
  • To carry out the work you've asked for, and to deal with any aftercare, guarantee or warranty issues.
  • To keep the business and accounting records we're required to keep by law.
  • To understand how well our website and online adverts are working.

We don't sell your information, and we won't send you marketing messages unless you've asked us to.

Our Legal Basis for Using It

  • Taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing a contract - when we respond to your enquiry, quote and carry out the work.
  • Legitimate interests - running and improving our business, keeping sensible records and measuring how our website and adverts perform, where this doesn't override your rights.
  • Legal obligation - keeping financial and tax records.
  • Consent - where we ask for it, for example for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who We Share It With

We only share your information where we need to, with:

  • Service providers that help us run the website and handle enquiries - including our website host, and Make.com, the automation service that passes contact form submissions to us.
  • Google - for advert measurement (Google Ads) and the map shown on our website (Google Maps).
  • Our professional advisers, such as our accountants.
  • Authorities or regulators, where we're required to by law.

Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contract terms.

How Long We Keep It

If your enquiry doesn't lead to any work, we keep your details only for as long as we need to respond to you and follow up, and then delete them. If we carry out work for you, we keep your details for as long as we need to support the work and any guarantee, and to meet our legal and tax obligations (financial records are normally kept for six years).

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. This website uses:

  • Google Ads - to measure how well our adverts work, for example whether someone who clicked an advert went on to contact us.
  • Google Maps - the map in our website footer is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when it loads.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking these cookies won't stop the website working. For more about how Google uses information, see Google's privacy information.

Your Rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information, or object to how we use it;
  • ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere;
  • withdraw your consent, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, call us on 0800 047 2610 or contact us through our contact page. We'll respond within one month.

Making a Complaint

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
